What I’m looking forward to in 2026

So I’m sat writing this article wrapped up in a heated blanket in front of my space heater (pray for my energy bill) whilst a storm causes all kinds of trouble outside, but in true new year style I’m looking forward to all the things we’ve got in store for 2026, both personally and here at fern + birch.

The first big thing I’m so excited about is fern + birch’s first official studio! For the last 2 years I’ve been working out of my kitchen and it’s time for a dedicated workspace! We’ll be building a beautiful new garden studio down the bottom of our garden and I can’t wait to fill it with flowers for all the wonderful plans we’ve got lined up this year. Stay tuned for building work progress and brace yourselves to see a lot more behind the scenes that now won’t involve my kitchen counters (but those will also be getting a transformation as we also tackle renovating the house we moved into last year).

We’ve got more spring weddings booked this year, and with that new colour palettes and seasonal blooms to create with, an aspect of my floristry work that I adore. Spring blooms are some of my favourites, so having more to play with through March to May is getting me through the depths of winter.

This year I’m also looking forward to being a lot more intentional around the work we do. I’ve spent the last 2 years exploring different avenues and working out what does and doesn’t work for fern + birch so excited to embrace a bit more clarity and focus this year. Sadly it means we won’t be running the monthly floristry workshops locally, but private workshops will still be something we offer, and the focus will become more around wedding floristry and stationery moving forward. So this year expect a lot more stationery content (I’ve been excited to carve out more of a space for this for some time) alongside showstopping wedding florals.

When it comes to stationery I’m looking forward to taking them time to build out more of our f+b collections, signature pieces available to purchase with customisation. It’s been important for me to take the time to refine our signature style, so stay tuned for this unfolding through 2026 (and expect lots of floral inspo!).

We’re also only a few days into 2026 as I write this so I’m also holding space for all the opportunities yet to emerge in 2026. We still have space for so many opportunities to collaborate with wedding couples this year and more, so let’s see what else comes our way!
